RESEARCH OVERVIEW

What is Thymosin Alpha-1?

Thymosin Alpha-1 is derived from prothymosin alpha and was first isolated from thymosin fraction 5. It modulates innate and adaptive immune signalling, including toll-like receptor pathways and T-cell maturation.

Its literature covers immune ageing, infectious disease models and vaccine response research.

Thymosin Alpha-1 vs Thymalin

Thymalin is a polypeptide extract from calf thymus, while Thymosin Alpha-1 is a single defined 28-amino-acid peptide.

Thymosin Alpha-1 FAQs

Is Thymosin Alpha-1 for human use?+

No. Thymosin Alpha-1 is sold strictly for laboratory research use only. It is not a medicine, food supplement or cosmetic and must not be used in humans or animals.

How is Thymosin Alpha-1 tested?+

No certificate has been issued yet, so no purity or identity result is claimed for any batch. Certificates are published on our Lab Reports page as each batch is released.

How should Thymosin Alpha-1 be stored?+

Lyophilised material should be stored sealed, dry and protected from light, ideally at -20°C for long-term storage. After reconstitution, laboratories typically store solutions at 2 to 8°C and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

How quickly will my Thymosin Alpha-1 order arrive?+

Enquiries are currently closed. No order or delivery is scheduled from this site. See our shipping policy for indicative delivery information.

Which Thymosin Alpha-1 strengths are available?+

Thymosin Alpha-1 is available in 5mg (£21.99), 10mg (£44.99). Larger vials cost less per mg.

Do I need bacteriostatic water for Thymosin Alpha-1?+

Lyophilised peptides are supplied as dry powder. Laboratories reconstitute them with a suitable diluent such as bacteriostatic water, which we stock separately. Our reconstitution calculator works out the resulting concentration.
