What is Melanotan 1?
Afamelanotide is α-MSH with two substitutions (Nle4 and D-Phe7) that increase potency and resistance to degradation. It acts mainly at the melanocortin-1 receptor on melanocytes.
Its research literature centres on melanogenesis and photoprotection, including studies in erythropoietic protoporphyria.

- Wipe the stopper with an alcohol swab.
- Add diluent slowly down the inside wall of the vial.
- Swirl gently until dissolved. Do not shake.
- Label with concentration and date, then refrigerate.
