What is Melanotan 2?
Melanotan II is a cyclic lactam analogue of α-MSH that acts at several melanocortin receptors (MC1R, MC3R, MC4R and MC5R). Cyclisation makes it more stable and potent than the linear hormone.
It is used as a tool compound in melanocortin receptor research, including pigmentation, energy balance and receptor selectivity studies.

- Allow the sealed vial to reach room temperature.
- Wipe the stopper with an alcohol swab.
- Add diluent slowly down the inside wall of the vial.
- Swirl gently until dissolved. Do not shake.
- Label with concentration and date, then refrigerate.

- Short term: 2 to 8°C for weeks in the sealed vial.
- Reconstituted: 2 to 8°C, protected from light. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
