RESEARCH OVERVIEW

What is Semaglutide?

Semaglutide is a GLP-1 analogue with two amino acid substitutions (Aib at position 8 and Arg at position 34) and a C18 fatty diacid attached through a linker at lysine 26. These modifications protect it from DPP-4 degradation and promote albumin binding, giving it a long half-life.

It is among the most studied peptides in metabolic research, with an extensive literature on GLP-1 receptor signalling, appetite regulation and glucose homeostasis. It is widely used as the benchmark GLP-1 receptor agonist in comparative work.

Semaglutide research applications

Areas explored in published in-vitro and animal-model research. No clinical claims are made.

  • GLP-1 receptor signalling and desensitisation studies
  • Glucose-stimulated insulin secretion assays
  • Central appetite regulation research in animal models
  • Benchmark comparator in incretin pharmacology

Semaglutide vs Tirzepatide

Tirzepatide acts at the GIP and GLP-1 receptors, whereas semaglutide is selective for the GLP-1 receptor.

Purity and testing

Certificates of analysis are published on our Lab Reports page as each batch is released.

No certificate is published for this product yet. Certificates appear on our Lab Reports page as each launch batch is released, and this page updates the moment a result is issued. We do not display a purity figure until we hold the certificate behind it.

Laboratory handling

Reconstitution

  1. Allow the sealed vial to reach room temperature.
  2. Wipe the stopper with an alcohol swab.
  3. Add diluent slowly down the inside wall of the vial.
  4. Swirl gently until dissolved. Do not shake.
  5. Label with concentration and date, then refrigerate.

Storage

  • Lyophilised: -20°C for long-term storage, sealed and dry, away from light.
  • Short term: 2 to 8°C for weeks in the sealed vial.
  • Reconstituted: 2 to 8°C, protected from light. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Semaglutide FAQs

Is Semaglutide for human use?+

No. Semaglutide is sold strictly for laboratory research use only. It is not a medicine, food supplement or cosmetic and must not be used in humans or animals.

How is Semaglutide tested?+

No certificate has been issued yet, so no purity or identity result is claimed for any batch. Certificates are published on our Lab Reports page as each batch is released.

How should Semaglutide be stored?+

Lyophilised material should be stored sealed, dry and protected from light, ideally at -20°C for long-term storage. After reconstitution, laboratories typically store solutions at 2 to 8°C and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

How quickly will my Semaglutide order arrive?+

Enquiries are currently closed. No order or delivery is scheduled from this site. See our shipping policy for indicative delivery information.

Which Semaglutide strengths are available?+

Semaglutide is available in 10mg (£34.99), 20mg (£59.99), 30mg (£79.99). Larger vials cost less per mg.

Do I need bacteriostatic water for Semaglutide?+

Lyophilised peptides are supplied as dry powder. Laboratories reconstitute them with a suitable diluent such as bacteriostatic water, which we stock separately. Our reconstitution calculator works out the resulting concentration.
