RESEARCH OVERVIEW

What is Tirzepatide?

Tirzepatide is a linear 39-amino-acid peptide based on the native GIP sequence and modified with a C20 fatty diacid moiety, which enables albumin binding and a prolonged half-life. It is an agonist at both the GIP and GLP-1 receptors, with greater affinity for the GIP receptor.

It is one of the most extensively studied incretin-based peptides, with a large published literature covering glycaemic, body weight and lipid endpoints. Researchers commonly use it as the reference dual agonist when comparing single, dual and triple receptor pharmacology.

Tirzepatide research applications

Areas explored in published in-vitro and animal-model research. No clinical claims are made.

  • Dual incretin receptor (GIP and GLP-1) pharmacology
  • Insulin secretion and beta-cell function in vitro
  • Adipose tissue and lipid metabolism models
  • Reference comparator for semaglutide and retatrutide studies

Tirzepatide vs Semaglutide

Semaglutide is a selective GLP-1 receptor agonist. Tirzepatide adds GIP receptor agonism, so the pair is often used to separate GLP-1 effects from combined incretin effects.

Tirzepatide FAQs

Is Tirzepatide for human use?+

No. Tirzepatide is sold strictly for laboratory research use only. It is not a medicine, food supplement or cosmetic and must not be used in humans or animals.

How is Tirzepatide tested?+

No certificate has been issued yet, so no purity or identity result is claimed for any batch. Certificates are published on our Lab Reports page as each batch is released.

How should Tirzepatide be stored?+

Lyophilised material should be stored sealed, dry and protected from light, ideally at -20°C for long-term storage. After reconstitution, laboratories typically store solutions at 2 to 8°C and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

How quickly will my Tirzepatide order arrive?+

Enquiries are currently closed. No order or delivery is scheduled from this site. See our shipping policy for indicative delivery information.

Which Tirzepatide strengths are available?+

Tirzepatide is available in 10mg (£54.99), 20mg (£64.99), 30mg (£84.99), 40mg (£99.99), 60mg (£139.99). Larger vials cost less per mg.

Do I need bacteriostatic water for Tirzepatide?+

Lyophilised peptides are supplied as dry powder. Laboratories reconstitute them with a suitable diluent such as bacteriostatic water, which we stock separately. Our reconstitution calculator works out the resulting concentration.
